Bao Moua

Bao Moua, mother of two and daughter of Hmong refugees currently resides in the Twin Cities. Her interest in film making and desire to learn more about her family’s history with the Vietnam War lead her to participate in Hmong Museum’s Unforgotten project in 2018.

“One thing that took me by surprise was when the Veteran was interviewed during registration to immigrate to the United States, he was asked specific questions that only the soldiers of the Secret Guerrilla Unit would know the answer to. This was to distinguish the true veterans from the crowd. When he answered the secret questions, he passed immediately and was among the first wave of Hmong families to come to the United States.” Bao shared in an interview with Hmong Museum about her experience with the Unforgotten project.
