Origin Story

Creative director: Tou Saiko Lee
Narrators: Long Lee and Chy Lee 
Dancers: Russ Ly and Kao Nou Moua
Videographer: Chue Yang

Hmong Museum partnered with spoken word artist Tou Saiko Lee to create a unique performance reviving traditional oral storytelling.

In this beautifually choreographed piece, Russ Ly, uses modern dance to bring the story to life. Kao Nou Moua, performs the dance with Ly. 

Long Lee and Chy Lee, narrates the story. 

A unique, live performance mixing spoken word by Tou Siko Lee, and traditional music sung by his grandma, Youa Chang.
